Confessions of a Low Roller Part 4:

              The Epilogue

We came, we saw, and we conquered. Yes, Low Rollers United had several members
present for most of the events.  We were greeted with warm smiles by classmates who
attended.   Looked around the Hospitality suite and could not recognize anyone.  Some
were heavier, others older, yet how could that be since we were about the same age.   Low
Rollers are still unpopular now as we were back then, and you would not have been invited
if you were the only graduate left alive in 2010.

One person was missing as his contributions of time, money, and effort helped to make this
50th Reunion a Success.    This man whom we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude is Jim
Nichols who developed the website and offered encouragement to this writer to compose
this series of Confessions of a Low Roller as we brought forth light to the element of
darkness.

Low Rollers United compliments the 50th Reunion Committee who spent many hours in
organizing this major event which will go down in the annals of history.  The Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday events were well attended.  Yes, some barriers were broken by a
few classmates, but with others they were still there. Disclosure: the author did meet some
very fine people who did not know I EXISTED during my 4 years at CHS. Some refused to
talk to me 50 years ago, now wanted to converse with me for some unknown reason.
Instead of talking about old times, many classmates spent most of their time bragging about
what they have achieved, or lied about working in Hollywood.  If you consider polishing the
stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame working in the film industry you are in luck

.
50 years is now under the Bridge of History so if you did not attend you missed a chance to
meet some very interesting classmates.  We were fortunate to have several Doctors in the
House.  Since most of us men are past 50, and you need to have the “Roto Rooter”
procedure, please pickup the phone and contact Dr James Klein as he is still a practicing
Urologist in Tucson. Now if he wants you to under go the “microwave” procedure, run like
Hell.   For those of you who want an old fashioned country doctor, journey up to
Connecticut and see Dr. Mark Stanberry who attended with his lovely bride.

How many of you remember Harold Rasp.  For those of you who are addicted to the “Sons
of Anarchy” on Fox TV welcome to Harold Rasp who tours the United States on his 2006
Triumph Motorcycle from Border to Border and Ocean to Ocean has been his travels.  He
also owns a 1991 BMW and has been to Sturgis.

Gary Lipscomb is a real cowboy and cow puncher.  He operates a cattle feedlot in Stanfield
and lives with his wife in Casa Grande.  For those who have driven Highway 8 at night and
stopped in Stanfield as an unofficial rest stop, Stanfield is down to 1 gas station.  It is still
the Old West there especially when ICE is on patrol.  So watch yourself.

Special thanks to Nina Stigers for opening her hacienda off the Mt Lemon Highway for
Sunday Brunch. Very well attended and good for some interesting stories especially for the
spouses of our classmates.  It was nice to converse with them and gain an insight on their
lives for the past 50 years or less.

Yes, the social stratification was quite evident, but the courtesy factor solved a multitude of
problems.  All of us have changed physically in the past 50 years.  Some of us our
candidates for the “Hair Club for Men;” while others just accepted “the cards” we were dealt.
So we will ride off into the Sunset and catch the last Wave of Life and be thankful for what
we have.
